Pupil premium

I don't know of anyone who disagreed with the idea of the pupil premium.  I just think it has taken schools a while to work out how best to use it.  We produced a template for schools to report to governors and parents (see http://www.usethekey.org.uk/administration-and-management/la-funds/pupil-premium-reporting-expenditure-to-parents-and-governors) and have been delighted to see that there are loads of examples of how schools have been putting the money to good use.
