What the primary school leader saw....

...well - to be more precise - what the primary school leader was focusing on in September, compared to the secondary school leader:

So - primary leaders were more likely to be focusing on pupil well-being, engaging with parents, specific groups of learners (eg gender, socio-economic group, specific talent).  Secondaries are much more focused on whole-school improvement.

It seems to us that primary schools operate much more closely to their communities than their secondary counterparts.  In primaries, the gap between home life and school life is much more blurred. These statistics reflect real interest in the many factors affecting a child’s development. 

Primary school leaders are

• 288% more likely to ask The Key about involving parents in a child's education
• 248% more likely to ask The Key about how to resolve issues with parents
• 105% more likely to ask about reporting pupil progress than secondary leaders
